Last time in Australia, it was really chill and also a bit boring. So I thought of watching the American TV series that my friend recommended to me. It’s called Deception.

“A disgraced magician puts his skills of deception and illusion to work at the FBI.” written on the internet when I looked it up. And after you watch the first episode, you will find out that Cameron has a twin brother named Jonathan. The main plot is surrounded with saving his brother out of prison. Combining different elements each episode enriches the series. Different from other TV series, they don’t spoil the plot in the trailer. It made me feel even more excited about the series and also made me start binge-watching Deception.

Magic and deception are all over our lives. Magic tricks emerge in our family every once in a while. If you follow me on Instagram, you must have seen my postcard tricks. There’s not only me being amazed by magic, but also the screenwriters. They overlap and combine the stories with many different genres and create marvelous movies. Such as Magic in the Moonlight combined with romance and Now You See Me combined with the crime.

As you can see, magic, magician, and illusionist are more and more popular in the movie industry. Deception is one of the few TV series that combined magic, crime, and FBI. Such a progressive leap of faith!

Instead of being followed by the police because of excessive magic tricks, the reason why I indulge myself in Deception is the extraordinariness of Cameron helping FBI solving cases with his expertise in magic and illusion. With the special plot setting, it makes Deception a splendid TV series.

“You see. There are two kinds of deceptions. There’s this … where I trick you. And then there’s the other kind where you trick yourself.” said Cameron. I think an excellent magic show is a combination of brilliant magic tricks and paying meticulous attention to the audience. Only by putting yourself in the audience’s shoes can catch their breaths and emotions. When I was watching Deception, it dragged me into the story and gave me an amazing visual delight. If you are looking for something to do this summer, Deception would be a great series for you to watch!
